The seat of the column cap features additional surface area beyond the side of the column to allow added area of bearing to distribute the load from the beam and provide enhanced support for the connection. This product is intended for use with 4x posts or columns and 3-1/4x beams but is also available in a wide range of other sizes and both nominal and rough-cut lumber Included with this column cap are the necessary Simpson Strong-Drive SDS connector screws to provide fast installation and lower profile than standard bolts.
