The blade has a doubleedge bevel & the back of the blade is extra thick measuring 3/16″ thick. The sturdy handle is made of Japanese White Oak. ThisHitsunatahatchet knife is great for many uses including use as a machete, brush axe, a heavy-duty whacking garden hatchet, use as a hatchet for kindling, etc. Made in Japan.
