The variable speed trigger allows the user to adjust the speed to 0 to 3560 RPM or 0 to 1300 RPM for optimum speed control for the material or application. A soft start suppresses start-up reaction for more control and better accuracy. For added durability in harsh job site conditions, extreme protection technology (XPT) is engineered for improved dust and water resistance, and a protective cover helps prevent battery (sold separately) contamination from mixing compound splash back. Its part of Makita’s expanding 18V Lithium-Ion system, the worlds largest cordless tool system powered by 18V Lithium-Ion slide-style batteries.
